Your Family Holiday
Day 1
Arrival – Family Welcome in Negombo
Meet your private chauffeur at the airport and transfer to a comfortable family-friendly hotel in Negombo. The remainder of the day is free for rest and relaxation.
Distance: Approximately 15 km
Travel Time: Approximately 20 to 30 minutes
Main Attractions: Negombo Beach, coastal scenery and a relaxed first day in Sri Lanka
Optional Activities: Short lagoon boat ride, swimming or an early family dinner
Travel Tip: A quiet first day helps children adjust after the international flight.
Day 2
Negombo – Dambulla – Sigiriya
Travel through the countryside towards the Cultural Triangle. Visit Dambulla Cave Temple or enjoy a relaxed stop before continuing to your family-friendly hotel near Sigiriya.
Distance: Approximately 155 km
Travel Time: Approximately 4 hours plus stops
Main Attractions: Dambulla Cave Temple, countryside scenery and the Sigiriya region
Optional Activities: Family village experience, local lunch or hotel swimming time
Travel Tip: The cave temple has steps, so families with younger children may prefer a shorter visit.
Day 3
Sigiriya Family Adventure
Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress early in the morning. Later, enjoy a relaxed family activity such as a village experience, nature walk or hotel pool time.

Day 4
Sigiriya – Matale – Kandy
Travel to Kandy through the scenic Matale region. Visit a spice garden or enjoy a family-friendly cultural stop before reaching the hill capital.

Travel Time: Approximately 3 hours plus stops
Main Attractions: Matale countryside, Kandy Lake and Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic

Day 5
Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens before travelling into Sri Lanka’s tea country. Stop at waterfalls and a tea factory on the way to Nuwara Eliya.
Distance: Approximately 80 km
Travel Time: Approximately 3 hours plus stops
Main Attractions: Royal Botanical Gardens, tea plantations, waterfalls and mountain scenery
Optional Activities: Tea tasting, strawberry farm or Gregory Lake family activities
Travel Tip: Bring a light jacket because evenings can be cool.
Day 6
Scenic Train Journey to Ella
Experience one of Sri Lanka’s most famous train journeys through tea estates, mountains and valleys before arriving in Ella.
Distance: Scenic rail journey
Travel Time: Approximately 3 to 4 hours
Main Attractions: Hill-country railway, mountain scenery and Ella landscapes
Optional Activities: Nine Arch Bridge, Little Adam’s Peak or a relaxed café visit
Travel Tip: Train tickets are subject to availability, so reservations should be made early.
Day 7
Ella – Yala
Visit family-friendly viewpoints around Ella before travelling through the southern countryside to the Yala region.
Distance: Approximately 120 km
Travel Time: Approximately 3 hours plus stops
Main Attractions: Ravana Falls, Ella viewpoints and southern landscapes
Optional Activities: Short nature walk, zipline for older children or hotel relaxation
Travel Tip: Choose activities according to the age and confidence of your children.
Day 8
Private Yala Safari – Mirissa

Day 9
Mirissa – Galle – Bentota
Enjoy a relaxed morning by the sea before travelling along the south coast. Visit Galle Fort and continue to your family beach resort in Bentota.
Distance: Approximately 105 km
Travel Time: Approximately 3 hours plus sightseeing
Main Attractions: Mirissa Beach, Galle Fort, lighthouse and Bentota Beach
Optional Activities: Whale watching, turtle conservation centre or Madu River boat safari
Travel Tip: Whale-watching trips are seasonal and may not suit very young children or rough sea conditions.
Day 10
Bentota – Airport Departure
Enjoy your final morning at the beach before a private transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport.
